A graduate of George Brown’s respected Jewelry Arts program, Michelle earned her degree in goldsmithing. As Thomas Pinck’s resident goldsmith, she takes great pride and care in every piece she creates.
Starting with the design process, Michelle gleans inspiration from each coin’s unique character and history. For example, the bezels for the Queen Elizabeth Silver Dollars harken back to the luxuriousness of English silver picture frames. Similarly, the bezels for the Balboa coins are inspired by the armor he wore.
For the bezels and the bails, Michelle first draws and refines the forms, and then combines centuries-old wax carving techniques with the latest 3D programs to complete the designs.
Production is done by hand including soldering, polishing and setting the stones to make each piece a unique creation.
Combining the bezel, bail and a selection of hand-made chains, Michelle transforms beautiful coins into elegant, timeless pendant necklaces for all to enjoy.
